Employment And Labour Relations

Employment And Labour Relations

In the year 2007, Kenya adopted a new regime of labour laws whose effect was to offer
wider protections and regulation of the employer-employee relations in Kenya. The
Constitution of Kenya further recognises and offers protection for employment and was
labour relations. The Constitution further established an elaborate system for the
protection of these rights by introducing the Employment and Labour Relations Court,
a Court of the status of the High Court, tasked with resolving employment and labour
relations disputes.
We have acted for various employers including companies, partnerships, County
Governments, learning institutions as well as individual employers. While acting for the
various employers, we have endeavoured to advise them on the legal implications of
their actions in relation to the current laws in order to forestall or limit claims by
employees.
In this regard, we have acted for private and public universities, banks and financial
institutions, devolved government, and county assemblies; including successfully
representing them in Court proceedings filed by their employees, former employees, or
employee unions.
