Overview
Irine is a Partner in the firm’s Litigation and Conveyancing Departments. Irine has a
breadth of experience in legal practice with a keen focus on dispute resolution, notablyin the areas of Constitutional Law, Employment Law, Family Law and Children Law.Irine has notably successfully represented clients in complex constitutional law matters.
As regards the area of employment law, Irine has been involved in advising Institutions on employment law matters including redundancy and compliance of company policies with the employment laws. She has also successfully represented institutions such as
Universities and Banks in complex claims filed by former employees, including defending the institutions against contempt of court claims. Irine has also notably filed
and successfully represented parties in employment claims against their former employers. Irine has also been involved in conveyancing transactions in the financial services sector, particularly perfection of securities on behalf of major local banks. She has
regularly been involved in preparation, perfection, and advisory role on enforcement of various securities and securitization instruments in favour of Banking institutions in Kenya.Prior to joining the Kenya School of Law, she gained experience in Corporate Law while
working for a major state corporation in 2015 whereby she formulated a Board Charter complying with the Mwongozo Code of Governance; and which was adopted by the Company’s Board of Directors.Prior to joining the Firm, she interned at Eshuchi & Associates Advocates and laterworked at PLASS Advocates as an Associate where she gained immense experience in diverse areas of practice.
Education
Irine graduated with a Bachelor of Laws degree from Moi University in the year 2015. She holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law, which she attained in the year 2017

Highlights of Notable Matters
- Commenced a Constitutional Petition against a major telecommunication Company in Kenya, for purposes of consumer protection and compensation of the Company’s customers and Kenyan citizens at large.
- Regularly involved in preparation, perfection and advisory role on enforcement of various securities and securitization instruments including but not limited to Charges, Discharge of charges, Debentures and Deeds of Guarantee and Indemnity in favour of Banking institutions and SACCOs in Kenya.
- Involved in the successful representation of a University in a Constitutional Petition at the High Court in Nairobi filed by a former student against the University, whereby the Petition was dismissed with no orders as to costs.
- Commenced class action suits for purposes of consumer protection and compensation of victims of aflatoxin poisoning in the Eastern Region of the Country.
- Successfully represented a private university in a matter where a contempt of court application had been filed by a former employee. Subsequently the employee’s application was dismissed.
- Successfully negotiated an out-of-court settlement for a client who was a former employee of a multi-national Construction Company. Subsequently, the Client was paid all his lawful dues of Kes. 900,000/= within three months.
- Successfully represented a major bank in an employment claim filed by a former employee at the Nairobi Employment and Labour Relations Court, where the Claim was dismissed.
- Successfully acted for over 40 claimants who had been unlawfully declared redundant by a local cosmetics manufacturing company.
- Successfully defended a leading Kenyan private university at the Nairobi Employment and Labour Relations Court against it for unfair dismissal filed by a union on behalf of thirteen of its former employees.
